Both the tulsi and sandalwood beads that I have introduced in this line have been highly blessed. The tulsi bush and the sandalwood tree used here were thanked profusely and worshipped before being made into these beads. Tulsi, which literally means “basil” in Sanscrit, is one of the most revered plants in India. Tulsi is an incarnation of the Goddess in all its glory and has been worshipped as such for centuries. In India, that which has no equal is called "Tulsi." The wood of this plant is therefore most sacred. Worn on the neck, it prevents diseases and enables the goddess within you to stem forth and take roots in your everyday life! In India, people who practice the yoga of love, known as Bhakti yoga are fervent admirers of the Tulsi plant and wear it around their necks as a reminder of their love for God, and God's love for them.

The sandalwood tree's scent is undeniably, along with the rose tree, one of God’s wonders! To enjoy its fragrance is a luxury rarely bestowed. Actually, it’s intoxicating! Yes, we are accustomed to the smell of its oil, or various products using the lovely wooded and fruity scent. However, to wear it as a garment is to willingly join in a pilgrimage to the center of the earth, and there to penetrate into something so sacred, so primal, that its very essence instantly awakens us to the truth of who we really are! The sandalwood tree is no-nonsense. It is aware of its value and special place amongst all other trees, yet, there is no arrogance in its fragrance. As all great ones who know as such, the sandalwood tree teaches us about humility – for only they know where the source of greatness truly arises from!
May the Sandalwood tree lead us in conquering our false sense of identity,
and may it teach us to revel in the glory of our own specialness, humbly
and delicately, like its scent.
